La Escuela de Ingenier\u00eda Industrial recibi\u00f3 un diploma que la certifica como Centro de Investigaci\u00f3n Asociado al CoE-SUFS, entregado por el Centro de Excelencia en Sistemas Sostenibles de Carga Urbana ( Center of Excellence for Sustainable Urban Freight Systems- CoE-SUFS), representado por Jos\u00e9 Holgu\u00edn-Veras, profesor del Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), ubicado en Nueva York, USA.<\/p>\n
El CoE-SUFS es una instituci\u00f3n dedicada a investigar nuevas formas de infundir sostenibilidad y eficiencia en la forma en que las empresas env\u00edan y reciben bienes.<\/p>\n
La entrega del diploma la hizo el representante del CoE-SUFS al director de la Escuela de Infenier\u00eda Industrial de la Universidad, Diego Fernando Manotas, durante el Taller sobre ‘Transporte de Carga Urbana: Una perspectiva sostenible’, organizado por la Universidad del Valle y la Universidad Javeriana, los d\u00edas 18 y 19 de mayo.<\/p>\n
El Taller permiti\u00f3 que los participantes compartieran sus experiencias sobre el transporte de carga urbana, al mismo tiempo que manifestaran la importancia de investigar e incluir este tema en la planeaci\u00f3n y en las pol\u00edticas p\u00fablicas, ya que los distribuidores de carga deben atravesar por carreteras, redes ferroviarias, puertos y aeropuertos de las \u00e1reas urbanas para que los bienes lleguen a su destino.<\/p>\n
